Iron castings

Iron castings refer to the articles cast by molten iron, which are collectively referred to as iron castings. Due to a variety of factors, defects such as pores, pinholes, slag inclusions, cracks, pits and so on often appear.
Quality of iron castings:
Including appearance quality, internal quality and use quality. Appearance quality refers to surface roughness, surface defect, dimension deviation, shape deviation and weight deviation of castings; It mainly refers to the structure and metallographic structure of the casting, as well as the holes, cracks, inclusions and segregation existing in the casting; Service quality refers to the ability of iron castings to work for a long time under different conditions, including stable performance, mainly based on actual reports, chilling and heating resistance, fatigue, shock absorption, machinability, weldability and other process properties.
Due to many factors, iron castings often have defects such as air hole, pinhole, slag inclusion, crack and pit. Commonly used repair equipment is argon arc welding machine, resistance welding machine, cold welding machine, etc. For casting defects with low quality and appearance requirements, argon arc welding machine with high calorific value and suitable speed can be used to repair them.
The quality of iron castings has a great influence on the properties of mechanical products. For example, the performance and dimensional stability of machine tool castings directly affect the accuracy maintenance life of machine tools; The size, accuracy and surface roughness of impeller, shell and inner cavity of hydraulic parts directly affect the working efficiency, energy consumption and cavitation development of pump and hydraulic system; The strength and heat shock resistance of cast copper parts such as cylinder block, cylinder head, cylinder liner, piston ring and exhaust pipe directly affect the working life of engine.
