During the forming process of aluminum castings, internal porosity, shrinkage cavity, air hole and other defects are easy to occur. After machining, the surface dense layer parts of these defective castings are removed, so that the internal structural defects are exposed. For automobile aluminum castings with sealing requirements, such as cylinder block, cylinder head, intake manifold, brake valve body, etc., the existence of defects and micropores will lead to leakage of sealing medium, resulting in a large number of waste products, and these defects often occur after pressure test after machining, resulting in a serious wave of working hours, raw materials and energy.

In order to solve the problem of high scrap rate of automobile aluminum castings and save the castings that may be scrapped due to the above defects, certain treatment measures should be taken in production. The most common technology used is infiltration treatment, that is, plugging. The so-called "infiltration" refers to the process technology that infiltrates the infiltrating agent into the micropores of aluminum castings under certain conditions, and after solidification, the filler in the pores is connected with the inner wall of the pores of the castings to block the micropores, so that the parts can meet the conditions of pressure, anti-seepage and anti leakage.
